Terms of Business

  • All prices are inclusive of GST unless otherwise stated, charged in New Zealand Dollars. Prices are guaranteed for 12 months and are subject to review thereafter. Payment by direct credit through online banking please to the account shown on the invoice.
  • Payment is expected within 7 days of the issue of an invoice. Payments made after this period will incur a 12% pr annum (calculated on a daily basis) late payment fee.
  • If payment falls into arrears after 2 visits we reserve the right to suspend services. Costs incurred in the recovery of Client arrears are payable by the Client. Arrears in excess of 30 days may be passed to a debt collection agency for resolution.
  • We understand that at times you may need to defer your scheduled clean, please contact us at your earliest possible convenience. We reserve the right to charge 50% of the normal invoice where cancellations are within 24 hours of the scheduled cleaning time, 100% where the cancellation is within 12 hours.  A cancellation must be made in writing via e-mail or text message.
  • We anticipate being provided with access on the day of the clean, as such it is the responsibility of the Client to ensure access to the property for your cleaner, we recommend allowing us to have a copy of a access keys/alarm codes to ensure we can access your property on the day. Where our staff are unable to access the property this shall be treated as a prevented access and a one hour charge applied.
  • Unless otherwise agreed this is an open ended contract; you may cancel at any time by writing or emailing us.
  • By taking up the provision of services from Whitby Cleaners Limited you are deemed to have accepted these ‘Terms of Business’.
  • Our offer of service does not include lifting or moving furniture, office equipment or other heavy items, If you would like us to clean behind large appliances, or furniture, please move it prior to the cleaning visit to enable access.
  • Our offer of service does not include carpet or window cleaning, repair services or other services which cannot be deemed to be ‘home cleaning’.
  • Our cleaners do not use ladders or work at heights. We keep our feet firmly on the ground!
  • Please secure any pet that may be a threat or hindrance to your cleaner, and please remember we do not clean up after poorly pets or pet accidents.
  • We can generally only guarantee an am or pm start time.
  • You will need to provide access to electricity and hot water for the cleaner.
  • Whitby Cleaners Limited takes responsibility for our staff and their actions, our cleaners are covered by Public Liability insurance. Our policies are designed to help minimise risk. Your continued patronage is important to the success of our business and we want to resolve any incident to your satisfaction. We will do our utmost to prevent breakages, they do occasionally happen and effective communication is very important.  Each incident is reviewed on a case by case basis. We suggest to our Clients that they may wish to move precious items they consider to be at risk to an area not being accessed by our staff, better safe than sorry.
